October 11, 2002 (Part 2)

Something magical has happened.  I got to do some healing today.  This is not to say that I don't do healing all the time, but lately, it seems to have been buried under all the pressure at work, and the push to get a business started.

I was walking up the hall at work and noticed one of my coworkers (one I don't have much interaction with) walking around with a bag of ice on her neck and shoulder.  With my usual grace and aplomb (yeah, right), I made some comment like 'ah, you have a bag of ice growing out of your shoulder."  When I asked what was wrong, she told me that she thought she had a disc moving out of place and that she had pain in her neck and around her shoulder blade.

I walked around behind her, scanned her and started to work.  I followed the lines I felt I needed to work, and the lines I was shown.  I did some compression, friction, and some other stuff.  Then to finish it off, I did Reiki.  When I was done, she told me that I was pretty good and asked if I did this.  I immediately whipped out one of my new business cards (the ones for Caring Palms Massage), and gave it to her.

We talked a little more and she mentioned about the pain giving her a headache.  She told me it was manageable now.  I put my hand in front of her forehead, and started turning it, creating a small vortex.  I closed my eyes, surrounded the energy creating the headache, and pulled it out.  Once I had it out, I threw it away.  I didn't say a word, but when I looked at her, her eyes were wide, unbelieving.  Her first question was "How did you do that?"

I explained about energy, and how everything is energy in some way or another.  Then I gave her my Reiki business card and told her she could get more information from my website.  This may lead to some business, or it may not.  It is a good start if nothing else.

Wow, depression one day, rising out of the darkness the next.  Then to have it capped off with magic, well that just makes it special.
