I have threatened to do this, and I am going to. I am going to talk about energy. Is Reiki energy? Yes. Are there other energies that can be used to heal other than Reiki? Yes.

(This was an article posted on ReikiAloha. It was aimed at Reiki practitioners, but anyone can try it. Please continue reading, and if you feel like trying it, do so.)

Before you go into this, you need to understand a couple of things. I was initially taught meditation and energies in crystals. I was taught to draw energies from rocks, the earth, the air, the sun and moon, and to pass that on to others. I later fell into Reiki, yet I have a certificate in Therapeutic Touch, and know a little Polarity. I found that Reiki is the most powerful, and easiest to use healing energies of all the above. But, sometimes it is actually just easier to send something else. (Hopefully, I haven’t shocked all you Reiki practitioners with that statement.)

We know that a thought is energy, and by thinking we are creating waves and intentions all the time. (For a commentary on thoughts and healing, please see my journal entry of February 9, 2001. Some of you old-timers may remember this being on this site.) If we are angry, we send out waves around us, and others notice. If we are happy, we do the same thing. Did you ever see what happens when you’re in a happy mood, and then you smile at someone? Isn’t it amazing how the energies affect them?

Let’s say that you get a request for distant healing. You set up a time (or do it right away) to set yourself, position your hands, visualize the distance symbol, and begin channeling and sending Reiki energy. You send it to the person knowing that it will act as best it can. I might get the same request, but treat it differently. In fact, I got a request the other day for someone that was having stomach problems. I reached out with my energies, surrounded the bad energies in the stomach, pulled them out, then reached out and filled them with white light, starting at the area that they had the problem (stomach).

What is reaching? It is something I think I’ve developed, at least I have never seen anyone else do it. Start like this, extend your arm and send your energies out your fingertips to someone across the room. Form that energy into a hand at the other end, and brush their cheek. Do they notice? If they do, they might feel a warmth where you are aiming, or a vibration. (Keep in mind that just because the energy is coming out of your fingers, it doesn’t have to be small amounts. It can be a huge amount. You are just using your fingers to direct and guide.

Once you can do that, try doing it to someone that is not present. Something that may help you visualize is to move your arm like you are casting a fishing rod. At the end of your cast, see a ball, or string of energy coming out of your fingers. I used to do this when I started out. It is a good action to associate. I have reached out and touched someone’s face, in Ireland, and they noticed. It does work. I have also reached out and done small massage where the person physically felt me moving the muscles. This is a start.

Pulling and pushing energy was something I was introduced to early on. It was the familiarity with it that allowed me to pick up Reiki as quickly as I did. Doing Reiki gave me a strong ability to channel, which was easily adjusted to work with most types of energy… light, calming, joy, strength. There is no limit. I am certainly not telling anyone to give up on Reiki. After all, I am a Reiki practitioner (and master instructor). What I am saying is to let yourselves see other possibilities, and know that there is more than one way to solve a problem. Some may find it easier to mix what they learn than to just rely on one thing. I am all for a rounded educations. Like I said, I offer myself as a Reiki healer, but let’s be real. When I start to work on someone in need, I use whatever I have at my disposal to heal them. Mostly, its Reiki, but I will add whatever I am guided to, so that they will be helped.

Take a step into a parallel world. Try reaching. Let me know what you think. I will gladly offer more help if needed.

May love and light be with you always.
