Today, I held my first ever Reiki Share. For those that don't know, a Reiki Share is where a group of practitioners get together and do healings amongst themselves, share ideas, and just plain old have a good time. Today was very special.

The day started interestingly enough with my turning on my computer to check mail (hmmm, like this doesn't happen much). Once, I was on, I was contacted by Emily in West Virginia over Instant Messenger. We used to talk a lot, but not too much anymore. I think the last time I really talked with her was when her grandmother died. We don't need to talk that often, but when she has problems, she knows who she can go to for help. At any rate, she was feeling very unbalanced. She had changed jobs to something she liked much better, but was having trouble balancing the changes that this caused in her life.

I offered to do some energy balancing, but knowing that I had big things going on, she said no. She didn't want to pull me away from the energy I would need for the Share. I told her that the energy was not mine, and that it would not take more than a minute. I reached out, and actually took her energies and set them swirling. As they swirled, I touched them, and settled them into proper places. When I was done, I asked her how she felt. First, she told me that she felt everything I did. Then she told me that she felt much better. Cool.

The Share started a little late as they were doing some road work about a mile away, and all traffic was getting routed up the road past our development. Most people passed the road where the work was being done, and got caught into the extra traffic being routed up this road. One person was coming in on the road that was being worked on. He had called to ask what street to turn on, and told me he would arrive in about 10 to 15 minutes. Forty minutes later, he got here.

All in all, we had had six people here. It was not as many as I had hoped for, but it was a fun, loving group. One of Kay's students (and my friend) James came. Two of my students, Tim, and Christo (who came from Daytona) were there. Then we had three people that came from Gainesville. Two were people I had never met, but had contacted me over the web and were looking at some type of training. Tina and Peggy were wonderful people and added a lot to the Share. With Tina and Peggy came Dee, the person who put on the Reiki conference back in May. Having her here really made it special, not that it wasn't special anyway, but it was more so.

Because there were questions about shielding and such, we went over some basic energy techniques first. I introduced the unified chakra which is something I learned from the ascension material I had read. It has to do with linking all your chakras together, and letting energy in and out of your heart chakra. It also helps one deal with larger amounts of energy.

Next we started doing group healings. It was so very neat. The energy coming into each person on the table was spectacular. Each person that got on there basically floated off when they were done.

After we had finished group healings, we did some healing chain work. A healing chain is where energy is passed from one person to the next to the next until it reaches the last person, who sends it to someone distant. This is something that Dee had never seen, so we did it, with each person getting a turn to be the focus. (Since every teacher teaches something different, not everyone gets exposed to the same thing. See past pet peeves on this one. J Dee had never seen this before, yet it was part of my Reiki 2 training. This is why we have shares, to introduce new ideas to everyone.) This was a very neat experience for all.

It was a wonderful day, and a great success. For some reason, I have felt this need to start bringing people together. There are a lot of small groups or Reiki practitioners in town, but they are all separate groups, not something real open or accessible to outsiders. I feel the need to start a group that can grow, a group that can let anyone in, and bring together people that care. I don't know why I feel the need to do this, but I know I do. I also know that it is not ego. I haven't been driven to be the leader of some group. At the moment though, I think I need to be a facilitator, and bring people together. Once we have people that continue to come together, then we'll see where it needs to go.

The Share was the test case to see if people would show up, and if there would be more. I think today was a huge success. The loving energy that filled each one of us was just spectacular. I am looking at scheduling another in a couple months. If it keeps going as well as today did. Then it will keep happening.

Here's to the continued coming together of people with gifts that they are willing to share. And love and light to all that came, and all that wanted to be here and couldn't, and to all that read this journal.
