Tonight was even more interesting. Believe it or not, I started taking notes. Darrell talked a lot more about energy tonight, then let us do a basic polarity healing.

I am going to try to pass on some of that teaching without getting too deep. Yes, I will definitely stay out of the quantum physics. (Trust me, I’m lost in it too.)

Let’s start with energy. I have said before that we are beings of energy. We exist in a physical body, but that body is still just energy. There are various types and vibrations of energy. Now, I have used the term ‘vibrations’ before. I’ve used it to describe a sense of each person, a way of locating them (tuning in to their vibrations). Now let’s use it to describe just energy.

All energy has vibrations. The frequency of the vibrations determines where it sits on the energy chain (it sounds like I’m talking about a food chain here). If we start at the bottom with very low vibrations, we pass through a lot of things as the vibrations get higher. At the low end, we have the physical things. That chair you are probably sitting in while you read this has a low vibration. That is why it is physical. As energy vibrations get higher, we move from the physical, down the road and encounter sound. As we keep moving up the line, we pass radio and TV waves, light, microwaves, x-rays, gamma energy, delta energy, and finally cosmic energy.

One of the things he said that scared a few people was that if it were possible (and I’m not saying it isn’t) to raise your vibrations, you could raise it to the point that you had too high of a vibration to stay on this earth. One student kept asking what he meant by ‘not being able to stay on earth’. They went back and forth for a minute or so when I looked at her and told her, ‘if you raised your vibration to that level, you’d be spirit’. In truth, you would no longer need the physical body you have, and that body would die. You would move on in spirit form as you do when you die, but maybe slightly differently (I’m not all sure on things here).

We all work on raising our vibrations, and each time we work in the ethereal realm, we do that. We are still a loooong way from ‘moving on’.

Darrell also talked about chakras. Clicking on the word CHAKRAS will take you to my page that defines the chakras as we define them for Reiki and other things. Polarity has a slightly different take on them.

Polarity therapy uses the same colors that I have described (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet – Roy G. Biv for those that understand the color spectrum), and the chakras still mean the same basic things, but they look at them as elements. Also, they only really deal with the first five chakras. Starting at the root chakra and working up, we have Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether. As I said the functions of each chakra is basically the same… We look at the root/earth chakra and call it physical where they call it grounding. For the spleen/center/water, we both call it emotions. The solar plexus/fire chakra, they call it creativity while we call it thought. They are a lot of the same things. The heart/air chakra, they say love, we say balance. For the throat/ether chakra, we both say communication.

Something I didn’t know was that each chakra aligns with a note on the standard musical scale. Starting at the root, we have C, D, E, F, G, A, and B. If we stretch a bit, and look at the A-note (the third eye chakra), it vibrates at 440 (and I honestly don’t know if we are talking vibrations per second or not). If we double that vibration, it is still an A-note, but it is now an octave higher. If we were to keep raising the vibration of the A-note by 440, it would eventually move from the range of sound into the range of light. When it did, the color of the light would be indigo, the color of the third eye chakra. Interesting huh?

I have always maintained that we have seven main chakras, and many lesser (sub) chakras. Some of these chakras are in the hands, specifically the palm and the fingers. The chakras at the tips of the fingers correspond with the main chakras, and share the same names. The little finger corresponds to the root chakra, so starting with the little finger and working to the thumb, we have earth, water, fire, air, and (the thumb) ether. (I guess that means if you see someone giving you the ‘thumbs up’ sign, you can do the same thing back and tell them “Hey, good ether.”) Polarity therapy involves matching the proper chakra combinations to heal the subject.

To me, Polarity therapy has always resembled electricity. With electricity, you connect two wires to a battery, and then to a light, you have created a circuit, which then lights the light. If you add a component like a resistor to the circuit, the electricity hits the resistor until it can resist no more, then it sends a burst of current to the bulb. Then the resistor stops until the level of electricity rises to the point it can’t resist again. This new circuit gives you a flashing light effect. (Didn’t think I knew this stuff did you? )

Polarity creates circuits with the energy in the body. As it is defined, the body has north and south poles like a battery. It also has magnetic poles as well. (I'm going to stay away from the magnetic stuff as I don't understand enough of it.)

By placing one's hands in specific places on the subject, one creates circuits to heal. Before, I related the chakras through the chakra points on the fingers. By placing them in specific places, the energy starts moving, and is circuited to the right places, alleviating the problems that the subject is having.

The main difference between Reiki and polarity is that Reiki channels energy into the body from outside, polarity brings nothing in. Polarity uses the energy that is there. It makes a connection so energy is circuited to where it needs to go. This can be grounding out excess energy, or moving energy to other parts of the body to bring the body in balance.

Darrell showed us a basic polarity routine. He started on the right side with his thumb (his ether chakra) above the subjects naval. He touched points on her body as he worked around her, switching hands as he moved from one pole to the other.

I looked at this, and was amazed. Then I started to realize what was actually happening. Darrell had drawn a picture on the board earlier showing the chakra points on the body, and he had drawn an expanding counter-clockwise circle over the naval. This was labeled the spinal current. It took me a minute to make the connection, but the light did eventually shine. Years ago, I was shown a way of grounding to my center. I realized that this must be what he was doing, grounding all the energies to his subject's center, balancing her out. Wow.

So far, my classmates had seen a lot that they didn't quote comprehend. I had seen a lot that I either knew, or had heard. So far, everything he taught was just tying together everything I had learned, or perceived, from all the different places that it came from. I am looking to tomorrow night's class.
